Who We Are
Founded in 1980, PGT pioneered the U.S. impact-resistant window and door segment, growing from just four employees to approximately 1,500 at the manufacturing facility in Venice, Florida. After the destruction from Hurricane Andrew in 1992, PGT established itself as a leader in impact-resistant windows and doors. The WinGuard® line, with over three million units installed and no reported impact failures, continues to provide consumers with safety and security. As the first manufacturer to develop a complete line of residential aluminum impact-resistant windows and doors to be approved by the Miami-Dade Building Product Control, the company assisted in the development of protocols required by the strictly enforced building codes.
